Jane's adventures
This blog is about my travels. At home in New Zealand, in other parts of Oceania, North, Central and South America and in Europe.
I didn't have much time left in my South American trip, but I had some time to explore Santiago. After lunch stopped in at an internet cafe to send some emails. There was a small tremor (not really big enough to be called an earthquake). No-one seemed that worried, Santiago is a place surrounded by volcanoes, and these tremors happen all the time. I wandered up a set of winding stairs to see the botanic garden and was surprised to discover it also had an interesting fortress at the top, complete with tiny church. From the top turret there were panoramic views of Santiago.
